Peanut Café adds new categories whenever we see there is a need. If you see there is a need for a new category, please send us a message through our contact form with the subject title "New Category".
No, you can access most of Peanut Café's features such as posting, searching, and creating flyers without an account. However, a Peanut Café account allows you to manage your account information, postings and flyers from My Café.
You can attach a variety of image files to your posting (.jpg, .png, .gif, .bmp, or .tiff image file formats.). Each image has a maximum size limit of 1mb.
No, we do not support user added HTML or url links at this point.
Peanut Café is about connecting members to their local communities. You should post to the community site that is geographically closest to your location. For example, housing offers located in Austin, Texas should be posted to the Austin site, not to the San Francisco site.
For users who post without an account, self publishing verifies you have provided a valid email address for people to respond to your posting. Also, the self publishing system is a security measure to protect people from pranks and scams where posers submit postings in the names & emails of someone else.
Avoid self publishing by getting a Peanut Café account.
- If you've submitted a paid posting or a free posting while logged in, you will not receive a self-publishing email. These postings are immediately published to the site.
- You might have entered your email address incorrectly on the posting form.
- Free email account like Hotmail and Yahoo might place your Peanut Café emails in your bulk, junk, spam mail folder(s). Try checking those folders.
- Network problems between internet providers can delay email transmission, sometimes for many hours. Try checking your email in another hour.
You can also try having your self publishing email resent. Enter the same email address you used to submit your posting(s). (Link goes to resending the email)
For free postings submitted with a Peanut Café account, click on the self publishing link in your email to confirm the posting was published successfully. It should take approximately 10 minutes from the time you self-publish to appear on the site. Paid postings or postings submitted with an account are immediately published to the site.
- Refresh or reload your browser.
- Search for your posting using a keyword search, with a keyword that is in the title or text of your posting.
- Select the correct category.
- Locate your posting under the date it was published (Refer to your confirmation email if you forgot which category and date).
- Your posting has expired.
- It was removed by community reporting or by a Peanut Café staff member for violation of our Terms of Use.
- Your posting wasn't successfully published.
For free postings, it should take approximately 10 minutes from the time you successfully self-publish to appear on the site. Paid postings are immediately published to the site after confirmation of payment success.
You may post to one category and in one community no more than every 24 hours. You may not submit a posting that is similar or exactly like another posting of yours that is currently active on the site.
Removing the active post will allow you to submit the new posting, unless the active posting is less than 24 hours old.
You can post anonymously by leaving the name and phone number fields blank in the Contact section of the posting form. Your email address is also hidden on your posting. People will respond to you by clicking on the "Reply" link at the top of your posting, and Peanut Café forwards this message directly to you.
- It has expired.
- It was in violation of the terms of use and was removed by our staff.
- You have removed the post yourself.
- It has been reported off the site by community members.
Peanut Café reserves the right to remove any postings that we feel violate the core values of the Peanut Café community with or without notice. Should you violate or object to any of our terms of use, rules, guidelines, or become dissatisfied with Peanut Café in any way, your only recourse is to immediately discontinue use of Peanut Café.
Our staff members try to monitor and remove the postings that are in violation of our Terms of Use and Posting Rules. To get the community connected and involved with this effort, we encourage our members to participate in moderating the postings for own their local sites.
Because all postings are self serviced, we empower the community to identify and report those that do not adhere to the core values of the Peanut Café community or violate the Terms of Use.
If you see a posting that is considered spam, extremely offensive, scam, miscategorized or violates the terms of use, please report it accordingly for removal by clicking the "Report Posting" link at the top of each posting and selecting the most appropriate violation. Once the posting has been reported enough times, it will be removed from the site.
If you feel the posting is illegal and should urgently be removed from the site, please report it through our contact form with the posting ID and an explanation of removal.
We support everyone's right to free speech (limited to within the law), so we please remember to report with care.
- Your posting is not published on the site. Please check to make sure you've successfully submitted your posting and it is viewable online.
- Your posting could be posted in the wrong category. For example, you've posted your car for sale in the "For Sale" category instead of "Autos For Sale."
- It could have moved down the listings pages sorted by date, in which case you can either repost when it expires, or delete your post and re-post with today's date.
- You may have entered your contact information incorrectly. Please make the appropriate corrections and editing and save changes.
Unfortunately, there is not a way to view expired postings due to the privacy of those who post on Peanut Café.
The tabs are there in case you want to look somewhere else on the site while you're in the middle of reading or submitting a posting. They allow you to refer to something in, say, the search listings, or "Help", and then return to the last post you were reading or composing without having to click the "back" button on your browser.
The tab function allows you to "switch" between numerous postings and pages without losing any pages you wanted to refer back to. You don't have to click the Back button and end up losing what you were working on. To switch tabs, just click on the title of the tab.
To close tabs, just click on the red circular "X" to the right of the tab.
All open tabs belong to one local community site. Changing community sites will close all open tabs and you will be taken to the new community home page.
Peanut Café is a privately held company, and our main focus is not on generating revenue but to offer a good, useful service to the community.
The Personals categories are for community members to correspond at their own comfort level. It is fun and exciting to meet new people within our community, but we must always take caution with personal encounters towards people we do not know very well.
Please be safe and take appropriate measures when responding to personal posts and arranging meetings. Use your best judgment and screen all respondents carefully. Set up your first few meetings in public places. Take a friend along or let someone know exactly where you will be, what you'll be doing and who you'll be meeting. Do not give out your home address until you are comfortable with the situation.
